KLX250S vs XR250 L
Has anyone owned both the KLX-S and a XR 250 L and could give me a little insight?
I really want a new bike, but I just can't decide what to get. I have looked at them all, and truthfully, I don't mind the
lack of power that comes with a 250cc.
My XR-L is a dog, and I would like a little more power without adding a bunch of weight. The KLX sounds like a wonderful
bike.
How do the two compare? I don't know anyone with the Kawi so I can't ride one.
I do have a buddy with a KLR 250 but we haven't had a chance to ride since his has finished being broken in.
I was impressed with his bike, but I think that I would rather have the KLX
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

RE: KLX250S vs XR250 L
well i dont know much about the L model but i have ridden a R model my friend let me ride his. but i have ridden a kls250S and it is exactly like mine the R and would hands down pick the KLX i think that the klx has a little bit more powere and it is water coled so you get a little bit more power out of it than the xr so i hope this helps.

I love my KLX 250, it has kind of grown on me. If I could do it again though I might get the KLX 300 and convert it to street legal. Or maybe the WR 250 and convert that. Check with your DMV if they will give you a plate first to be sure. I don't think you can go wrong with the KLX 250. It's a good bike.

Why go with a 300 and DS it? That must cost a good chunk more than the 300cc bits to upgrade the 250 to a 300 including the carb mods, or at least I would think it would not to mention the possible DMV hassle.

Did you just say that the KLX-S has the same punch as a XR250R? Interesting..... and R will eat my XR-L
