KLX250s vs. CRF250x on trails
I currently have a street legal crf250x and it is a great all around bike, but I'm starting to ride more and more pavement to get to the trails. The 250x does great off-road and also does fine on the road, but the maintenance is going to start getting expensive if I start racking up lots & lots of pavement miles. Does anyone have experience on both and can compare how they stack up against each other off-road. I'm not too concerned about power, just suspension, weight, & handling on fast single track & rocky jeep trail type riding.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well I don't have any experience on the Honda, but I will say that the KLX is an awesome bike despite what a few of the guys say. The reason that the KLX is not the awesome and perfect bike for those minority of riders is because they are wanting to go 0-60 in 3 seconds. But if what you are looking for is a bike that will do the speed limit and is still a very capable machine on gravel and trails then the KLX is in my opinion the perfect bike. Also the difference between my bike stock and what it is now is 1000% better! All choices are a compromise, but within that compromise you can tweak some of the differences and get perhaps the perfect bike if you have some money and are willing to see the big picture. Besides Its the ride not how fast you can get there that really is the best part. I wouldn't care if I had a home made 5hp old school scooter as long as I had a good time.

I suggest you try the KLX and make up your own mind. Either a test ride at a dealer or someone from the forum here (if you happen to be in Albuquerque, I'll let you try mine).
For fast single track & rocky jeep trails, I would keep the CRF. The suspension on the KLX is smaller, softer, and comes with a few less inches of clearance.
Good luck,

Nah, that can't get ya in trouble....unless you show the bike more attention than your wife.
