KLX250S vs CRF250L drag-who wins?
#2
if both were stock, probably the CRF since its not as plugged up as the KLX. But then again I don't know about the KLX EFI models.
With some mods the KLX should win rather easily, with a big bore the KLX would absolutely annihilate it.

Drag racing dual sport bikes probably isn't the venue they were created for, but it's an interesting thought. Along the lines of drag racing these small 250 engines, have any of you seen the CBR250 version of the Honda going head-to-head with the new Ninja 300? Even when Honda rolls out the 300 version of their CBR, it isn't going to hold a candle to that screamin' Kawasaki 300. One of our locals who owns the Kawasaki has easily gone over 100 true mph as shown on GPS. Well, when I say easily I mean he was able to get there without having to have the Bonneville Salt Flats to achieve it.
Here's just one vid showing the carnage, and all others I've seen have the same results. In fact the Honda in this vid has an aftermarket exhaust.

Here's that Kawasaki 300 against a +40hp KTM Duke 390-almost dead even!

Seems like the HP numbers were very close. So they may be closely matched

A friend has the CRF250L and although we havent really "drag raced" I can say that at WOT on the road he doesnt get away from me and I dont get away from him. I would say they are fairly equal and any win on either side would likely be due to the rider and not the bike.

both were new this year both on Kenda K270s. I do outweigh him by 30lbs or so. I seriously looked at the CRF but got a great deal on the KLX. My buddy did the same but got a ridiculous deal on the CRF. Both are really good bikes and each has their strengths and weaknesses. Weaknesses on both would be drag racing! LOL!

Oh Crap, TNC. Flip flops, shorts, and a vest....I was anticipating bloody carnage.
