..... I bought my ktm adv to be my cruiser.....lol....that thing will vibrate your fillings out
However, the Honda Shadow my not fit the bill anymore. I Love the enduro so much I want a Enduro Cruiser.
Finger Mullets Quote above rang a bell. Yea, that's what I want to do too. But I'd like to keep the fillings in my teeth LOL
I am looking to replace my cruiser with an Adventure Bike.
I had my eye on the BMW G650GS.
I have the KLX250S = my Street-able Dirt Bike
I now need the Dirt-able Criuser Bike
Anybody been down this road or have any thoughts on this?
If not the BMW G650GS, what is a good pick?
Thanks.

WestOz you always manage to come up with the most obscure bike pics.
The bike looks nice but the completely unprotected underbelly exhaust routing looks like a problem waiting to happen. Nothing that a good old fashioned bash plate wouldn't fix though huh? I'd sure give it a go. Is that thing even a real bike?

What kind of dirt do you expect to do with the cruiser?
The "adventure touring" bikes are heavy.
I bought a BMW F800GS last November, because I just can't stray from the dualsport stying. The new F650GS has the same 798cc parallel twin (detuned slightly). I've had it up to 80mph (indicated), and it's very smooth. The windshield is a little short for the freeway, as the air hits me just below the helmet. The seat is a little better than the KLX, but not good for all day cruising.
As a dirt machine, it's definitely capable, but I think it weighs about 550lbs wet. I think 1st gear is a little tall (it goes about 10mph at idle) so you'll use a lot of clutch if you have to go slow in the technical stuff. I've had it out on the sandy desert roads and it wanders a bit (they don't come with knobbies). It comes with a 150/70-17 rear (90/90-21 front), and that limits the choices for knobbies. It's not an all day cruiser, but with a new seat it could be. If you run out of pavement, it can certainly go there too. Tight, single track would definitely be a handful, and hard on your clutch too. Accessories are 3 times the cost as the same parts for the KLX. Insurance is quite a bit more too. My agent quoted me a pretty good rate because I said it was a dualsport. When the VIN went into the computer, it came back as a "street, sport" and the rate jumped 4x.
Hope that helps,
Tom

Sure is. A bunch of Italian policemen have just returned from a 16000 Km ride for charity around South America. They were all riding the Amazonas.![Big Grin](https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Sounds good too.
