Going tonight to look at a 2006 KLX250S with less than 100 miles. Guy is asking $3000.00 which sounds like a good price says it is like new. Have not seen it yet so that isto be determined.

I currently ride a 1998 Honda XR400R offroad only but miss riding dual sport. I used to have a 1991 Honda XR250L and I really have missed that bike.

Based on what I have read on here that the KLX250 is a great bike and would be similar to the XR250L I used to have.

Any negatives about the bike I should know of? I am not a power junky. I just want to cruise around the backroads of North Carolina.

it's a very good deal. your getting a $4700 bike for $3000 and your thinking about it? are you nuts? if you decide it's not for you let me know where it is and i'll go get it for my son.

 

I went this evening and looked at the bike. I walked into the guys shop and he had about 15 bikes and atv's lined up in a row. Everything from Harley's to Scooters. He pushed the KLX out and I couldn't believe it. It was the closest to showroom quality you can get.

It had 72 miles on it. I took it for a spin. When I got back I got to looking at it and it is a 2007 model not a 2006 as he advertised. To make a long story short, I will be picking it up tommorrow. I am pumped now.

The guy was really nice and was basically selling everything he had to pursue other adventures.I'll try to post some photos tommorrow.

 

How does it compare to the 250L? I was looking for one of those used everywhere before I found the KLX.

 

That's the deal of a lifetime! I love my KLX even at $1500 higher than you spent.

In regards to the 250L. I have not rode the KLX enough yet but power wise I will imagine they will be about the same. Technology on the KLX far surpasses the 250L but you can't beat the 250L for realibility. I just hope the KLX is just as realible. I can't wait to find out.

 

I was out cruizin the streets and stopped at a light and a guy on a cruizer came up behind me and pulled up beside me saying Thats awsome man!!!!!! lol..... everyone likes this bike on the street...

 

I get a few thumbs up from cars sitting next to me and people I pass.

A couple of times I have had a police give a few double takes, probably looking for the turn signals, mirrors and license plate and once got a thumbs up from an officer speed-trapping a school zone.

On the down side, yesterday saw a lady on a brand new KLS250S with her husband (I presume) following on a new 2008 KLX650.

 

And wheres the downside of that? I can't see a downside. I bet she had the bigger grin. [8D]
