KLX250S Newbie Questions
Hi fella's, I started out with a '04 XT 225 loved it on the trail, but it was heavy and underpowered. I then bought a '07 DRZ400S of a friend, I did some mods and the bike ripped! But was a tank in the bush. So here I am..Just bought a '07 KLX250S
Suspension feels soft for my 170lb self? Are the fork adjustable for Comp? Looks like rubber plugs in bottom of the forks,do they pry out toallow access to a adjustment screw??
So far I put on some Tusk big bar adapters and Renthal Fatbars, Pro taper Pillow top grips and a Fold down Husky Mirror.
I'm looking at going to a 13/47 gear combo but I'm not sure what chain length to get.??
It still has factory tires on it so my favorite combo of a Pirelli Scorpion Pro front and Kenda Trackmaster rear is on order.
I ordered a Richochet skidplate, but am gonna wait on exhaust till I do some more research on Jetting and slip-ons.. So any info on Free mods and chain Length would be great.

Congrats on the new bike!
Those rubber plugs do pop out and give access to the clickers in the forks. You can play with them, but you probably need stiffer springs. Stock springs are .37kg, I'm about the same weight as you, and I have the Moto-pro .44kg springs. The Moto-pro calculator suggested .42kg for me but I got a deal on some .44's and they are great, not too stiff at all.

Have fun with the new bike.

Greetings JB
Welcome! You can find lot of good stuff here.
I'm running a 49 rear sprocket and can run 13 through 15 on the front with a 110 link chain. I'm guessing with a 47 you may need to go with a 108...but that's guessing
Mine is re-sprung front and rear and I'm 205 w/o gear. Some around hear say to re-valve, especially on the front if you ride it harder. Fork gold valves, 351 kit, and maybe a pumper carb may be in my future.
