KLX250s Mods done, is speedo off now?

Yes you can recalibrate the Vapor. That is one of the main reasons people get it. It will also read coolant temp. Draw backs are takes a lot of time mounting it, custom mounting and rewiring.
That is why I like the SpeedoDRD from 12oclocklabs. It is a plug-n-play unit. If you only want to Recalibrate the Speedo then I think it is much easier then the Vapor. but if you want all the bells and whistles then get the Vapor.

For me, I could have probably tolerated the inaccurate factory speedo but the odometer is the trouble. I race enduros and I need to be able to advance and adjust a tripmeter to follow the route. A nice benefit is the vapor's accurate speedo and other features. I don't even have the water temp installed since there is no good way to do it on the 2009+ bikes.
I have no other roadbike and my commute to work includes freeway so in the spirit of a dual sport the KLX does it all and does it all very well with the factory gearing.

As far as gearing goes I found the 13 front hurt the highway ride much more than it helped the off road ride, I'm back to stock as if I decide to gear it down for serious off road I'd go up on the rear also and that would kill it for much more than back roads. I've got full knobbies on it and have did interstate jaunts of 4-5 hours solid, don't really recommend it but the seat is the real killer on a road trip.
