On the piece of paper bill has given me with the kit it recommends that I set clearance to .0020 (.05mm) but it's only a guideline

The stock settings are 0.10 - 0.19 int
Exh 0.15 - 0.24mm

What have others done before, I hear that people use the stock setting? What is the right clearance setting to use?

IMPORTANT CLEARANCE INFORMATION GUIDELINES ONLY
set clearance to .0020 (.05mm) some applications may require more clearance.

I'm assuming that isn't valve clearance because that'd be really close

Yes, that would be very close.
I don't have my papers from Bill here with me.
Could that be ring gap?
I found an old post where Bill said to keep stock valve clearance settings with the big bore, and have a request into him today to verify. My head is in the shop for lapping, inspection, etc. (oh, that sounds bad....)

Yeah I think it might be ring gap, it's on the page with all the piston information. I also recall seeing the same about bills clearances on the forum. I will just keep it stock, I will find out when I put it all together

If the valve clearance isnt set to stock clearances it wont run right.... why would the valve clearance be different with the big bore?

I think I was just having a dull moment, it's supposed to be the stock clearance

Can I run the 351 kit without jetting the carby for now? I am going to start building it up tomorrow but I don't have my jet kit yet, I don't want to take the chance of it running to lean.
