Is this KLX250s a good deal?
Hey everyone,
The bike is a 351 big bore. It is listed at $2800 which is already lower then average. Without asking the owner told me his final price is $2500 which made me skeptical.

Does this seem a good deal? Or are alarm bells going off?
Thanks

I bought my 09 for $2800, all stock, 5k miles. With all those mods AND the big bore kit, I would think $2500 would be a sick deal!
If your skeptical, give her a thorough test ride, take it over some dirt and see how she grunts in low gears, then take it on the road and let the top end sing. You should be able to tell if there is anything wrong with the engine by the way it runs.

That's a good price with the big bore already installed. I notice that when looking at the pictures that I don't see the B&B sticker - not that it couldn't be peeled off. Might be a good idea to double check, I think Bill also stamps the number somewhere as well. Maybe someone who already has one can chime in.

Thanks to you guys, I am now the proud owner of a KLX351!
Unfortunately I didn't check up on this thread until now, so I didn't look for the stamp. That being said the man seemed very trustworthy. He was quite wealthy, had kids and was very passionate about riding.
Although the bike had sat for so long that the battery was dead, after about 10 strokes it started up and instantly purred smoother then my KLR! I took it for a test drive and the only word that came to mind was smooth. Both the engine and the gearbox felt like butter.
My only worry is the previous owner. He bought the bike to use as a dirt bike and was quite hard on it. Fortunately he seems to have maintained the bike well enough. The big bore kit was only installed 2,000km ago and since the bike has had 3 oil changes.
Can't wait to take this to the trails Wednesday! Thanks guys!

Hey guys I noticed something else. When I run the VIN the model that appears is actually a 2007 KLX250H. Is this exactly the same as the KLX250S? A quick search came up with some conflicting information.
Thanks
