Default KLX250S - Cannot Ride on Street

Today while at a stop light the car next to me rolls down their window and yells "Hey, You can't ride a dirt bike on the street."

I raised my helmet and said it is a street legal dirt bike, check out the plate and we all drove off.

I got pulled over for "someone riding a dirt bike on the street" A local called the cops and one was right around the corner and there i was and he pulled me over. Checked license and ins and registration. When he told me that, i said, yea it was me, but im allowed to.

That's funny. Here in Idaho we see "dirt" bikes on the street all the time. Blinkers not required here. We need a headlight, tail/brake light, horn, one mirror, and a plate that can be obtained without any inspection. It's so easy to convert and license a dirt bike to be legal on the street, and so rare that LEO hassles the riders.

Couple weeks ago - sitting at a red light at a main intersection..

I see a state trooper traveling on the road I was waiting to pull out on. Dude goes past me while staring and immmediately flicks his lights and busts a U-turn.

Flies up on me and yells "THAT THING BETTER HAVE A STREET PLATE ON IT"

I didn't even say a word, I just pointed in back of me. Don't ask me stupid questions and I'll give you a little more respect next time.. Do you really think I'd be sitting at a red light in the center of town on an illegal dirt bike?! And he had his wife in the passenger seat - their life must be really boring if they took personal time to come try to harass me.

I should have made a citizen's arrest on his illegal U-turn. hahaaa.. *****.

Just kind of points out one of the things wrong with some people in this country. An alarming number of them just can't help sticking their noses into the business of others when it really has no bearing on their own lives. Why that guy felt an overwhelming urge to call out a total stranger on something he saw as wrong when it had no real, negative impact on him is something I find amazing. If you were driving drunk and weaving all over the road and were a hazhard to others, then I wouldn't care if he tackled you right off the motorcycle and held you until the police arrived. But just because you were driving down the road in a civilized manner, and he felt it was his duty to challenge you...stupid.

Lol oh man citizens arests....I had a "friend" try to make a citizens arrest on a township cop while intoxicated. Needless to say, that didn't end well.
