Hmmmmmm.Decisions,decisions.
Sounds to me like you have made the decision

Oh for the above poster with hp numbers...stock klx is only 18 or so hp NOT 24.
You are 100% wrong the klx is rated 24.5 horsepower. The wr is rated at 28.

I think the ratings are just the motor... i thought someone here dyno's there KLX stock at like 18 HP at the wheel... but i'm a newb what do I know.

GO WITH THE WR! i bought my 09klx and my buddy got the WR at the same time... his is hand down faster and i like the fuel injection so much better... the seat was just a bit tall for me (i'm 6' with a 30" inseam.) I could probably deal with that now, but since this was my first bike, i didn't feel comfortable on it.

If i did it again, i'd go with the WR all the way.

my $0.02

That picture resembles a direct insult and name calling of which we don't allow here. Opinions are welcome, as long as they are not followed up by insults.

Why in the world people compare the rear wheel power of the KLX to the crank power of everything else is beyond me.

My truck is rated at 260hp at the crank, car 211hp at the crank, snowmobile 125hp you guessed it not at the track but at the crank, lawnmower 16hp yep not at the blades, damn even my snowblower is 6.5hp at the crank not the auger.

So once again the KLX is 24.5 at the crank the WR is 28 at the crank.

And the KLX doesn't need high octance gas.

Fuel injection sure as heck isn't going to add 10 horsepower.

lol bear we've been over this so many time over here .... noone gets excited about it any more

As much as I'd like the stock klx to put out 24hp it does not, at least not the us models...and judging by your sig you're talking the us one.....your source, whatever it was, has missguided you ... like a skiff in the everglades during a thick fog and no compass. Post up your source.

Most klx's are 18-19hp out of the box....most wr's are 26-27...perhaps 28......besides my big bored ..... pumper carb, ported klx should be 30+hp...if I started at 24....not a chance but I wish what you claim was true.

Yo deej, email me the pic...ha, ha, ha.

Yall with WR envy should just go buy one. It's not like you married your KLX or anything. Sell it, save up a little more, then buy something else. What's the worst that could happen?

In know way was I implying any one here was stupid and never meant it as an insult. It is just a picture that I found funny and if taken anyway it should be me that is not underestimated. If you want me to remove it that's not a problem.if I insulted you beardoge I am sorry and never meant anything by the pic.I have been using it as a sig for about 6 months now on other sites and never thought anything of it.before now I didn't think a picture of me and the wife would be so controversial.lol

Talking It's all about the green

I do agree at the time the KLX was the only choice... The only upside to the WR is more suspension adjustment on the front forks. No matter what bike you buy it's never setup right for your weight and riding sytle so that's no matter. For the extra cost to change the carb (36-68), k&n filter (no lid) and exhaust system you're still cheaper than the WR. Both are offered in SM or dirt. I'll got a million dollars into my klx now and no plans of stopping. I'd go green again any day hands down. On the plus side the KLX is easy to work on. Fuel, spark, compression and you're off. Fuel injection can be a pain if not working right and so can a carb but the parts cost is way cheaper...
