KLX250 or WR250X?
I just sold my KLR250 and I will be getting a different bike this year.I really want a WR250X but I found an '06 KLX with 1000 miles, warranty until 2011,$3400.00.I also found a dealer that has a brand new '07 KLX for $3950.00.I'm not sure what the HP on the KLX is but the WR has like 28 or 29 HP.I also HATE that crappy carb that Kawasaki insists on using on the KLX.The WR is fuel injected so a PC3 is the way to fly for tuning. No jets, just hook up a lap top and go.
Hmmmmmm.Decisions,decisions.

Yeah, what he said. Don't get me wrong, I love my '07 KLX, but it's sure hard to argue against 50% more ponies right out of the box. Lots of people here have spent way more than the 1K premium for the Yammi on upgrades and still have less power. To each his own I suppose, and until I ride a WR I'll withhold judgement.

The wr is an awesome bike but I already own my klx and with the economy in shambles I dont need another toy.$3900 for an 07 isnt bad for a new bike, its a leftover and as long as its been sittin dry its still new in my book. I bought my 06 as a leftover and got a great deal

Please.
28 hp wr250
24.5 klx250 means the wr has 12.2 percent more horspower a meager 3.5 HP.
17.7 lb.-ft. wr250
15.6 lb.-ft. klx250 means the wr has 11.8 percent more torque
I could fart 3.5 horsepower and give my bike that much extra power, for a short duration anyway.

I can't believe I'm going tot say this, considering I push the KLX on every new member that comes on here, but the Yamaha with its fuel injection would be a great bike......... I'm just saying, it would be nice to go from sea level to 6000 ft without losing power. Isn't that the bike that Tony bought? He loves his. I suppose a lot of us have this nagging idea of what other bike we would have picked as a second choice. Mine would be the Honda 650. But I don't regret getting the KLX, and for me, I will never get rid of this bike. When I get something, its usually for life........but don't tell my first wife.

Well I am going to go look at a DRZ400S,and a WR250X this weekend. The WR has brand new FMF exhaust,FMF FI programmer, and AIS elimination kit. There was a guy up in Duluth that had a DRZ400SM advertised for sale but he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Not even a "It's been sold" out of the guy.I really want more than 250 cubes, but the WR looks sweet.I went to the dealer today and sat on one.I think it would be a lot of fun.

If I was buying now...used wr for sure. wr did not exist when I bought my 06

WR.... + power commander and pipe ===
Oh for any that say why not sell your klx since you like the wr so much....I luv my klx and if I did replace her it would be a few steps above the wr....ktm plated smoker.
