KLX250 Timing Chain Tensioner

From those pictures I would say the part will fit. The offset is in the position of the plunger, and the cut aways on the plunger were important parts of the design If they weren't there the plunger would hit the head and not work. That was what I was trying to see in the images of the ones I could locate.
Buy one if you want another OEM style but don't want to pay Kawasaki prices.
For the design of the manual tensioner I had to take the plunger position and those two cuts into account when locating my adjuster bolt. So I know about them.

Thanks for your thoughts. It's interesting that the plunger has cut aways and these are critical for allowing it to enter the engine. The tensioner currently on my bike which has been modified to manual uses a regular hexagonal head bolt to apply tension instead of the original plunger. The bolt is turned to adjust the tension. The hexagonal head has no cut outs and fits into the engine regardless of the angle it is turned to.
I don't know why the original auto tensioner was drilled out to make it manual or whether the person doing it was competent. As works with the hexbolt at any angle and with no cut outs, I'm wondering whether the head was also tampered with to accommodate it. All kinds of bodging are possible here as original parts are very difficult to obtain. I've previously found some very dubious/makeshift "repairs" done before I bought the bike.
I'll make a note to check exactly what's been done next time I have to take the head off for any reason.
