KLX250 gas mileage?
#21
90-95 mi to reserve just ripping around on pavement this summer. I'm 150 lbs, bike was stock except for a new Trak master and Kenda K777 tire. The speedo is off like 5 mph so mpg calculations are more of an educated guess. You actually travel less than the odo says. There are to many variables but bottom line is you can cruze all day for 5$ in fuel.

I am about 50/50 on-Road and off-Road. I rev the **** out of it and have absolutely no respect for fuel economy what-so-ever and I get about 50+ mpg. No matter what I do I can't get less than 50. I suppose poking a hole in the tank might work
Anyways, I could not be happier

I consistently get 60+mpg. Bike is stock - for now - and probably 80/20 street/dirt. Once it warms up I'll wind it up if the situation calls for it but usually don't pay much attention to the tach, just keep it at what feels like the "sweet spot" for the gear and situation.
Figure I'll probably lose 10-15% once the mods are done, but thats still over 50, which is still slightly better than my Seqouia gets....... But for me it's never been about the milage, it's all about the grin factor.

I have riden mostly street on my 2009, I have 1500 miles on it since June 2008. Most of my riding has been surface streets and two lane hiways around 45-55 mph. I consistently get 70 mpg. Worst was 62, best 80. But normally 70 ish. I am calculating it based on my odometer miles and the gallons added at the pump. Using a gps would be more accurate since at least for speed the speedometer is off about 10% for me.

62~68mpg on a 06' KLX250s, stock. No free mods have been done to it. I average about 90~100+ miles before RES. Most of the travel is done at speeds of 25~55mph, 6 miles daily work commute, 95% paved streets, and once in while trail riding.

Does anyone know exactly how much fuel is left in the 1.98gal fuel tank when you have to switch to reserve? This 250 is new for me and I've been refueling out of a 2 gal plastic fuel jug....so I'm not really sure what the reserve is on this bike. Thanks.

1.5 gallons on main, .5 gallons on RES. Tank's capcity is about 2 gallons, give or take +/- .1 gallons.
