KLX250 EFI UK 2012 starts then 1 minute later FI light ON?
Bike ran fine, complete with traffic light cut out...
Washed on Sunday as usual, came to start on Monday morning and was rough, spluttered and popped and banged... swapped out for another bike in garage and left it alone.
Came to start looking at KLX and found intermittent spark and then found rusty coil ground connection. Cleaned re-fitted and then bike started and run...but FI light came on some time later and the engine revs increase..? I looked for code but all I could find was flash-flash and no code....
I then fiddled next day and found 8 flashes then a code 2-1 or is it 3-1, I think 2-1 so that’s the Crankshaft Sensor I inspect and I see the correct resistance and I’m sure all OK. I then test the wires from the sensor to the ECU all seems fine complete with wiggles of the wires... I then run bike until the FI light comes on and then re-test sensor and still the same 240 ohms... I f I stop and then restart the bike the same happens all OK until approx (not measured) 1 minute later the FI light comes on and the revs increase.....
What is weird is that the FI light only comes on after approximately a minute of running??
Any thoughts?
I had a good look arounf the ECU connection and I couldn't see any chaffing as per previous posts.....

Well I found that the Lambda sensor was causing the FI light to come on but it wasn't reported. I used one of those ebay eliminator plugs and all good.
I went off down the road and no problems, until I hit 6000rpm and then it cut out like and electronic rev limiter, never had this before??
I wonder what sensor is used to power the Tacho...?
Apart from that she sits there and just purrs along..

The bike used to rev right up to the black line on the ltd circa 10500 rpm. I did think of the clutch mod so I quickly shorted the wires together, taped it up and drove off. Still the same although it was a bodge fix at the time just to see.
