Default KLX205 running rich

Ok see if anyone on here is smarter than i am. I have an 06 klx250that i put a slip on pipe. I took and rejetted to a 125 main kept the stock piolet jet, and turned the fuel screw out 2 1/2 turns. I must have messed something up because it is running so rich it wont hardly start. And when it dos its blowing black smoke. Runs good at wide open though. i have went through and double checked everything I can think of. And ideas would be greatly appreiated.

Thanks in advance

Both my Kwai dealerships told me That you do not need to rejet with the slip-on there is another guy the site that his dealership told him the same thing. the salesman that sold me my bike has one of his own with a full muzzy and stock jetting, I just talked to him today 3000km's And it is serviced By mechanics that have worked there for 20 years--No issues and Does not run lean at all. You will get a thousand awnsers from people on this site. I find most people on this site lean the bikes out bad with airbox mods and Hi-flo air filters. I think that is why there is so much rejetting.(This is just my opinion I am not out to offend anyone) These are 4-strokes and should not have to be rejetted all the time like a 2-stroke.

Take off the airbox lid, it's what Kawasaki recommend.

Did you set the fuel screw yet?
Or did you just pick 2.5 turns out of the sky?
The screw is very sensitive.
Try 1.5 turns out from lightly seated.

How is your needle set up?
It's a quick check to see if it's seated properly.
This could cause your symptons if it's not seated correctly.

origanally the dealer told to put a shim under the needle wich i did. but after such a rich condition I decided to take it out. As far as I can tell the needle isseated correctly...

Yes the service bullitin reccomends takin the airbox lid off with the STOCK muffler spark arrestor removed. Not lean the bike out with a performance exhaust and then lean it out more by removing the airbox lid. Logic please!!
