We have a big steep hill on SR410 in the south puget sound. Elhi Hill. It is a 55 MPH limit divided highway. The hill is one of those that bicycle riders train on and trucks gear way down for.

I weigh 165ish and I can easily run up this hill and accelerate with ease in 6th gear at speeds from 58-72 indicated. Basicly it handles the hill just like my diesel ford truck. Plenty of holding power and enough to accelerate but no wheelies. I've never had to downshift out of 6th on this long hill.

The stock bike has plenty of power for freeway driving. At least as much acceleration and speed as the average auto.

Know the hill Highbeam. Used to mess with my buddy pulling that hill. We'd be towing sled trailers on our way to Greenwater. Him in front, I'd pull up behind him and turn my signal on as if the pass. Then watch the smoke pour out of his duels and laugh at the 'big dog' who thought his truck was king. My 460bb vs his 350sb, I'd just let him go.

Cool

My KLX250S is still very new, only 200 miles covered so far. On a trail ride last weekend, riding out there is a long steep twisty climb before you get to the trails and had no problem holding 55+ in top gear. The bike is completely stock.
