Default KLX Seat issues.

Help, I need some more seat hight. The transition from seated to standing on the new KLX feels a bit strained.
Looking at pics of earlier model Klx,s( 2006 ) the seat looks taller.
Does any body know if earlier models have a different part number for the seat and if they are interchangeable.
Alternativly any ideas on a taller ( NOT WIDER) seat?

I have a Guts Racing tall seat. Love it. As a taller guy (6'1") I felt "sucked" into the tank by the stock seat. The Guts seat is much more comfortable to sit up close to the tank and transition from seated to standing and back.

Yes, I have an '06 and never looked at their site for an 09+. Give them a call or email. My experience with their customer service was positive. If the seat pans are similar, the old '06 foam and cover may work.

Here is the reply from GUTS RACING, a dead end for the later models.
.Sorry but we do not offer any seat foam or cover options for the 2010 KLX 250.

where do you live? I have a 06 stock foam, and one I had gutts make with crf honda density which turned out taller.

On other bikes I have just added a layer and was able to reuse the stock cover. Zero cost, used carpet jute, the padding made with multi density foams, multi colored. Free scraps from the carpet shop. Even an 1/2 inch makes the seat feel taller.
