Thanks.
I had it up in some pretty decent twisties this weekend. We went to an area on the other side of the mountains from Misawa..kind of near Aomori. It was a nice, easy 200 miles. There was plenty of chances to enjoy the scenery, because I'd rip-up some twisty sections, then wait formybuddy. He was on a Harley Sportser .

So what exactly is the difference between the d-tracker and the klx250s besides the wheel combo and exhaust? And can you get then here in the U.S.?

If I were stateside, I might consider something bigger, but when the corners get tight it all evens-out.

Sadly it is not available in the U.S. I think Kawi is missing-out on a growing market segment. The exhaust you see in the picture is an aftermarket system. The D-Tracker comes with the same stock exhaust as the KLX250S. My mods include a pumper carb, aftermarket exhaust andseat...so far. The stock gearing is 14/39, but I think it's a wash when you factor-in the 17" wheels. Also,D-Tracker's rear fender/tailight combo is completely differentthan the KLX.

Kawi would sell alot of these bikes here in the U.S.,it's nicer than a ninja 250 and definately nicer than a honda rebel. Half these kids going out and getting the fastest bikes out there wouldn't get so messed up if they started with a small bike and worked their way up after actually learning to ride correctly.2 more kids got hurt really bad this weekend from rider inexperience with a big bike.
