I rode the bike home once we got him loaded up and on the way to the hospital. I will need new bars and blinkers but nothing serious. The light switch assembly may need replaced as well.

I have been expecting to upgrade to Pro tapers and some LED blinkers anyway.
I will post a medical update later today when I hear more.
Thanks for all the concern.

I didnt see the actual wreck, but it looks like he was simply going to fast. Going down a logging road that had been recently widened so the surface was still pretty loose. It looks like his rear tire slid out and he must have over corrected. There are some loose rocks around and one of them may have kicked his back end around. He slammed the bike and himself down hard on the left side. That is where all the damage is to both. When we rode up on him the bike was facing the opposite direction and the rear wheel was almost on his head.
They should get the results of his second ct scan around noon and that will determine if they move him from ICU.

Wow man, I hope your friend recovers 100%. I also know that no amount of after the fact lecturing will change what has already happened, so I'll just leave it at that...

Okay, so I just re-read the entire thread and realized that it wasn't the thread starter who made "8 beers" comment.Itsounds like an honest accident and heprobably would have suffered most of the same injurieswith or without a helmet. But still... ya gotta protect your brain cage!

Travis was released from the hospital yesterday. He is wearing a brace to help his collar bone heal right and he is still VERY sore, but his brain is fine and he will likely be good as new in a month or so.
Ive ordered some flush mount blinkers and pro taper bars so the klx will be 100% even sooner.
