KLX Lowered - Need a Shorter Stand
Anybody know if you can get a shorter kickstand for the KLX? I have mine lowered so my wife can ride more comfortably, and now the dang kickstand is just a touch too long. In the wrong situation, the bike would likely fall over on its right side I really don't want to chop it. Is the stand adjustable even, that would be sweet.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

Do your self a favor, go and buy a new one modify it and then show it too her when its done. You'll be a HERO....and she will probably make you Very Happy in return. Then go buy the next thing on your hop up list.
Think about it Work it HERO
When you bend it outward it sticks out when tucked up lookin way funny, buy a new oneandshorten the one on the bike.

Just for your information. I don't think there is a commercial shorter one. I had the same problem in it being way too long after lowering the bike. I removed the entire kickstand and took a hack saw and cut through the leg as close to the botton plate as I could. Then I cut off about 3/4 inch of the leg as close to the angle that I cut the plate as I could judge. Took it to a guy in our club who is a metal worker. Took him about 5 minutes to re-weld it to the leg.
I ground it smooth here in the shop. Hit it with a wire brush to rough it up and cleaned it with Acitone. Applied two coats of gray primer then shot two coats of a semi gloss Crackle finish. No one knows it's been shortened as it looked new... until I had it in the dirt for a few hours. But it does stand up now with no hint of falling over.
Just a thought. Be safe.
