I am going to cut that Indonesian header also so i can use the cross over to try my KLX 300 Works header (Or so i was told) and the FMF header. Change the Q4 slip on and the Indonesian R9 slip on. See what it feels like. The Indo header has an ID of 30mm , The KLX 300 has an ID of 36mm where it joins to the head. So i will take the FMF power bomb off to measure inside. see what it is, But today is get drunk day. So it will be tomorrow now.. :P

Today, I messed around with some exhaust combinations for fun and too see what if any big difference the FMF / Q4 had with the Indo straight through 55mm with a Kawasaki 300 works header. The straight through is loud, way to loud but the bike pulls much better from 6K to 9K . So im going to put the FMF system back on. Looked into why my FI light has always been on, Found that the O2 sensor was disconnected with no by pass plug fitted. So i fitted a bypass plug that i had, O2 light is out now but the bikes running rough. I have removed the throttle body to take out the secondary butterfly. Will reinstall tomorrow.

Well after cleaning it all up and reinstalling the throttle body, FMF power bomb and Q4 can, I started the bike. Running very smooth.
Took the bike out and yes, this is getting so close now although the bike is so low geared.
Changed the front sprocket for a 15 tooth. so running 15T / 49T . Took the bike out again .. Amazing. This is turning into what i imagine it to be when i started. Next thing is i want to try a 46T rear to see what difference that makes. But my little Indo adventure touring bike is coming together. I still think that i can refine the fueling somewhat. Still wheelies in 1st and 2nd but does 135kph.

I'm intrigued by your intake cover. Do you really think it cut down on the noise? I thought about doing something similar, but then I figured that the seat bottom was already between me and the air filter, so how would another thin piece of plastic dampen the sound that much? If yours is working, I'm encouraged to try it too.

Yes, I think at full throttle about 50% .
Dont know why,, I am at the stage of just trying little things. to see what works for me, As as you are aware everyone is different in what they want from their bike. That is the magical thing about the KLX , It can be adjusted for many different peoples styles.
I cut the bottom of a Tupperware container and JB welded it round 3 sides so its sealed apart from the front. I used the OEM airbox cover so i could bolt it in and out. Thought i would try it before running lidless. I had a KDX snorkel but it was restricting the bike big time with the 331 kit.
Hope that helps.
I have lots of pics if you need any more help. or want to see better,
George
