LOL....

Once again I find myself "under gunned"!!!!!!!

I'm I the only guy on this forum who rides and doesn't carry??? [][][]
LOL, I personally don't carry, never felt the need. But I reckon if there was a good chance I'd come upon a pack of wild boars streaming out of a culvert heading towards me like on Bill's ride, I might reconsider. [&:]

Nope ... um, maybe.

I don't have to contend with vicious animals or varmints, but I sometimes take my Crossman CO2 pistol out for "plinking" while taking a break. (I don't know if this counts as "carrying" or not. It's got an electronic scope, if that makes a difference. )

(EDIT: misspelled "varmints".)

Well, I don't carry every ride, everywhere, although I do have a Texas CHL which gives me the right to carry all the time.

I do carry when I ride in the very desolate areas around here where the only humans are Pumpers (guys that maintain the oilwells and pumps) and meth cookers. There's a big problem in this area with people stealing anhydrous ammonia (a liquid fertilizer) for making methamphetamine, crank, speed, whatever you want to call it. There's nothing worse than some meth-head that's been up for three days and sees you as some kind of green dragon coming for him.

Pumpers on the otherhand are good people for the most part. As long as they know you're not messing with their rig, they will give you the shirt off their back to help you. I'll stop and talk to a pumper if I see one sometimes to ask about washouts and conditions.

Just wanted to explain that I'm not the paranoid type, just prudent.

(typos & spelling)

Gotcha,

Loading for bear (like the good folks in the state of WA do) and loading for wild animals or crazies makes perfect sense to me!! Guess I'm just damn lucky that I only have to contend with a possible run in with the Jersey Devil:

And so will you all when you come out here to ride...[][][]

About the only wildlife I've seen riding are turkeys and no I'm not talking about myself! So I think I'll be OK unless turkeys can be rabid and even so I think I could take it.

Well, there's deer, but everyone has deer they are like rats with hooves. They scare the hell out of me thinking about one of those things running out in the road in front of me. They tear the hell out of cars, I don't even want to think about they'd do to a person on a motorcycle. And please don't post any youtube or google videos - I've seen them all and they are horrific.
