KLX 300 VS KLX250 camshafts
Since my bike is overseas I was thinking of getting some used KLX 300 cams and having WebCam regrind them to their KLX 250 specs. However I'm not sure if the 300 cams will work in the 250 correctly?
Doesn't the 250 have a KACRS on the cam and the 300 does not? Therefore the 300 cam without the KACRS may strain the starter motor on the 250? I know the cams will bolt in no problem but I fear the lack of a KACRS will present its own problems.
Can anybody shed some light?
Thanks in advance.

RE: KLX 300 VS KLX250 camshafts
did some checking, 97-07 klx300 intake cam is the same as the 06-07250s. 97-02 exhaust cam is the same as the 06-07 250s cam. The exhaust cam for 03-07 on the klx300 changed, I am curious if the change is in the kacrs or if it is a different grind or something different all together.

FTB,
You've probably read Brewster's response already. He said that the KLX300 exhaust cam's ACR timing was changed in 2003 in order to make it easier to kick.
Further investigation -by me- reveals that the 1997-2002 KLX300 and 2006-2007KLX250S exhaust camsare theexact same part number.
No worries! I'm not sure how the post 2003 and beyond KLX300 ACR timing change would affect the e-start, but you might want to get a 2002 or earlier exhaust cam if the thats a worry...OR send a later model can to Brewster and have him change ACR timing to the old specs. I really don't think the ACR timing change will hurt anything though.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'm sourcing some 300 cams and having them sent off to WebCam. Sadly I'm not back in Thailand for a couple months to test all my goodies but will post my findings.
Also just got an email from Bill regarding the mods he does to a Mikuni 33mm pumper. I'll be going his route for my carb. Thanks for the referral over there guys.
