Default KLX 300 Exhaust

Ok all I would like a little input on this question, I have found but not yet purched a complete 1999 KLX 300 Stock exh system with very little use. I can get this system for 40 Dollars.
1 Will it fit?
2 Do you think there would be any gain with this swap?
At this price I am almost willing to be a guinea pig.
Thoughts please

Just looked at the online pics at Kawi, it has a removable baffle. Get it. I'm curious.

I believe it will fit,
There is a guy that has bought two of these KLX 300 Stock mufflers online somewhere on these forums, and has put them on his KLX 250s, and he sais that they work fine. I also had just found a White brothers KLX300 full system here in GA, and the guy wants $150 for it, sure beats $400 for the muzzy, but I'm kinda worried about how loud it will be, and whether or not it needs repacking,I guess I will find out. Is it hard to repack a muffler, what does it consist of??

I am the one with the KLX 300 stock head pipe and muffler on my bike. It works great. It bolts right on just like the stock header and muffler. The only thing I had to do was come up with gasket material for the joint between the muffler and head pipe. Here is the link to my write up at the time...Link... I wrote this in a discussion about drilling the baffle in the end of the stock muffler.
As far as drilling the stock pipe, I like the option to be able to go back to stock if I want. I ended up making a plate with a hole for the 300 pipe. It replaces the stock spark arrestor. I tapped the hole so I can add or remove a fitting. With the fitting in, the bike is as quiet as stock. With the fitting out, it just makes just enough noise to sound like a motorcycle. With the plate removed, the bike is loud, too loud for the places I ride.

HOLY CRAP!!!! I just picked up the white brothers E-system from a local guy for $150.00[sm=smiley20.gif]. Well its thundering and lightning like hell over here and I only got to start it in my garage with the choke on, lets just say that I had to turn the choke and bike off because at 3,000 RPMs warming up this thing is LOUD, my wife came downstairs and bitched at me!!!!. This is with all the plates installed and the Spark arrestor in it, I gotta say that this bike is definatley not stealth any more, not at all, I think it could have possible woke up the neighbors. I probably think its too loud because its late and everyones sleeping, but damn, this sucker lets you know its a motorcycle now. So at least it will let people know that I'm in their blind spot on the road, cause they will be able to hear my bike sceaming beside them. I cannot even imagine what it sounds like at 7,000 RPMS[sm=insomnia.gif]
This is a used system but its only got one little scratch in it and no dents. The header is definatley bigger, and if I took the spark arrestor off I could probably fit my hand in the back of the pipe, no joke. I will post some pics when I get some time. I also took my passenger foot peg off like todd did because it was touching the pipe.

Hey on my Whit bros. exhaust I have tuneable discs, but which way do I go with them to make them quieter? Right now there are 13 discs on the muffler, does this mean this is as quiet as it can get? Or is it the less discs you have, the quieter it will be?? So will 6 discs be quieter then 13 discs, it doesn't sound like it should but I'm just making sure.

From what I understand the less discs installed the quiter it should be. By theory anyways.
