RE: KLX 250S mods???
I was told there is a local guy here that will custom make a whole new exhaust setup,re-jet,make a new air box and remove all the smog crap.He fabs up custom parts for Farreis and Lambrogenies.and had his own DRZ,so got into bikes as well. But I have been told he is not cheap.I just bought2 new bikes,so I am poor right now.Once you get it home,Calif does not know what you do to it.

I think Eric meant emissions tests?
The green is very sharp, while its nice that there are color options now, the red just doesn't do much for me. I really like how they put the smaller blinkers on the 09 as well, I'd like to replace the big 06's but they are so bright that I don't want to lose visibility with the mini signals that are found all over.

yea... like when my truck needs its yearly inspection, they just plug it into the computer to make sure its running the way it should, emmissions wise, I know cali has strict laws, but do they actually test emmissions on bikes?

RE: KLX 250S mods???
now those who have the 09's get to start the "trial and error" of what parts fit what parts dont fit all over again.... good luck, exhaust is looking like it might work though, except which was already mentioned, different rear subframe.

With the exhaust, it will be too easy to fabricate another bracket to fix the silencer to the sub frame.
If I got an 09, I'd be ordering a slip on right now.

Offroad I'm surprised ya didn't get more help so far. Order a dynojet kit for a klx 300, remove your airbox lid, and order an older klx slip on or full system muffler of your choice (just make sure you can send it back if you can't get it to work) if it needs a tab welded or a slight bend no biggie.
You can do the airbox and rejet w/o the pipe first if you want....just grab the biggest drill bit >1/2" at least (bigger is always better..lol)that will fit up the tail of your bike and drill out the first couple baffles not as good as a slip on or full system ... but better.
Lookin forward to a ride report.
