RE: KLX 250s Horsepower confusion
[align=left]Hello KLXers ! Here in Greece the MOTO magazine tested a klx250sr at 1995 , the sr model is like s but it's only kickstart , it had 22,2hp at 9.000rpm on wheel . A d-tracker witch tested in 1999 had 23,9hp at 8.950rpm on wheel and an otherone magazine (0-300) witch tested klx had almost the same numbers. So in my country the general opinion is that klx is at 22-24hp on wheel from the factory with any mod.

Sminit, Thanks for posting...and all the way from Athens too! We have quite an eclectic group on the forum, don't we? I wish we could get together for a ride. Just a recording of the conversations would be fascinating to hear. How are the trails in Athens? Are there many places to ride off road?
We spent some time in Italy summer before last, but it was all on a Ducati Multistrada. A few dirt roads in the mountains southwest of Genoa, but no truly off road stuff.
Keep us posted!
By the way, your English is a lot better than most of our Greek. Anything besides English is "Greek" to me.

I don't think any of us hate the truth, we just hate your nonstop constantly abbrasive "I know everything" replies. Go away, you're like a turd that won't flush.

Thank you! I couldn't find the right words to say....thanks for finding them for me! It seems that all of the topics that interest me have been invaded by DRZ this and DRZ that.
I researched this KLX of mine before I bought it, and pretty much knew what to expect out of themoney that I was willing to put into it. It amazes me that someone looking foralot more power than the KLX, and someone that obviously doesalot ofresearch, would have ever even considered the KLX to begin with.

I found this on you tube. It talks about some mods and they dyno tested it at 17 horespower. There is also another 7 min of fottage about suspension.

Wow! Crete! What a dream come true, to ride a dirt bike where Paul walked in sandals, 2000 years ago.
Sminit, you've got me thinking about another pond crossing one of these days!

when I bought my KLX over a year ago, there were no dyno reports and pipes were just coming on the scene. There weren't but a handful of members here, and basically just a few had piped the muzzy and jetted. There were no big bores or anything. So tell me, what have you ever contributed to this site other than taking people's suggestions? Yeah, I may talk about my DRZ, but that's what I have to compare to. It's a good bike with a lot of power. Ride one, and you'll sell your KLX.
