Klx 250s exhaust and rejet
#11
Thank you guys for all your help. i went with the HMF exhaust and the dynojet system. I took of the the airbox lid also. What a improvement so much better. I was wondering if there was anything i could do to keep the exhaust temperature down and stop some popping on decel?

What notch on the needle did you use?
I did 3rd and I have just a little decel pop.. (1.25 turns out on the Kouba screw)

3rd position on the needle sounds about right as that's what many others have. You could try a little more out on the fuel screw, but I didn't look back to see if you put in a larger pilot. I tried a #38 and the fuel screw had to be turned way too far in (about 1 turn) and went back to the stock #35 and the screw is about 2 turns out. Any leak in the exhaust will tend to induce decel popping; I have a little leak where the HMF slipon connects to the header that I need to fix.

I think the suggestion is using the red high-temp gasket material or similar for high temp applications. I tried it once, but either didn't use enough and/or didn't let it set long enough to set up - I think someone here recommended 24 hours.

Is that a legit gasket or a squeeze tube application?
