Not sure of the name, since that was a life time ago, but here is a picture of the same bike I had. It was a cool bike in the day. All chrome fenders and tank and rack. And the little round container under the rack I used for extra gas. Some things never change. And look at the fenders, that's where I remembered the idea about the fender extensions. I knew I saw it somewhere in the past.

Wow - what a blast from the past. Lots of kids in my neighborhood had bikes of some type. One of the guys had a Hodaka - I can't remember if it was just like that or not, but it looked similar and was a real screamer 2-stroke - he mopped the floor with us on our Honda trail bikes.

Thanks for the trip to memory lane Brian, its good to reflect back, it keeps me humble. I wish I still had that bike, if you do a search on e-bay or just Google the Hodaka bikes there are all kinds of places with stuff like that. So mine was the Wombat, LOL where did they come up with the names?. Notice the round air cleaner? So easy to get to, no removing the seat, not that I ever cleaned it, I guess my OCD came years later when I lived in a 32 ft park model travel trailer for 9 years, if you left anything laying around, it was in the way. But growing up I was not the clean freak that I am now. In fact I can remember as a teenager at least once a week my mom calling upstairs to my room to bring all the dishes down because they were out of silverware, hehe. I even had grape juice turn into wine it had been in a glass so long..............dang was that out loud again, I gotta stop doing that..............

Wow, you guys have me thinking back. My older brothers rode dirt bikes and every year at christmas or birthdays, my parents would ask me what I wanted it was always the same thing, a dirt bike. By the time I was twelve they realized it wasn't a faze I was going through. I used to cut grass in the summers and one day my dad came home from work and asked me how much money I had saved up. I think I had about $200. Anyway, my dad said "I saw a nice bike for sale on my way home". I went crazy, "how much, how much". He said "$400, I'll loan you the $200 if you want it. That was the happiest day of my childhood.

1981 Suzuki TS185

This isn't the actual photo of mine, but it was the same year and same condition when I bought it. By the time I was 17 it was pretty trashed, I think I sold it for $500. Not bad, 4-5 years of trail riding, and made $100.

The dealer I purchased my from down here in Medford told me that he had sold 14 and that was all he was getting for the year. That was around June. He had one more coming from a dealer up in Portland that helped him out. I think it's been a huge hit. Muzzy claimed that my exhaust has been the best selling exhaust they have ever seen. I hope White Brothers gets word on that! I hear the call out to all the other manufactures. We need more dirt bikes you can ride and the streets and we need to be able to ATV in the streets as well! OPEN IT ALL UP. Golf courses included!
