Im familiar with your document, thanks-- but have the dyno runs been completely erased off the net? The links in the first few posts no longer work.

If its no longer available, could you describe how the curve looks compared to the stocker shown below?

The charts, therefore the "proof" you're looking for, are gone, as far as I can tell.. If you have the skills to do the MCM, you'll be doing it based on what you read in here.. While the loss of the pics is of no concern to those of us that have first hand knowledge of MCM gains, you should know that there was never a "before and after" chart ..

Josh, you can read my DGR thread below for the recipe to get nearly 22hp/16trq (SAE Corrected @ rear wheel) instead of the 15.5-16hp you have now ..

Your link isn't working - We badly need a good Dyno Chart ( Actual chart with all supporting data) on a stockbore..

Which is what makes his posted charts completely erroneous.

Zomby, Ive read a few of your posts. You sound skeptical--have you tried the timing adjustment personally? Whether you have or havent, what are your honest thoughts on the theory behind it and the real world results that most people who do it claim it produces?

Thanks

I does work but if you have no mechanical skills don't attempted. Valves and pistons meeting is not a good thing. I ran the MCM for about 6 months with no issues and good improvement in performance before I went with the BB 351.

So I checked my Mojave service manual and saw this interesting information:

Mojave Valve Timing -

Inlet Open: 31 deg BTDC
Inlet Close: 53 deg ABDC
Duration: 264 deg

Exhaust Open: 57 deg BBDC
Exhaust Close: 27 deg ATDC
Duration: 264

KLX 250s Valve Timing -

Inlet Open: 22 deg BTDC
Inlet Close: 62 deg ABDC
Duration: 264 deg

Exhaust Open: 61 deg BBDC
Exhaust Close: 19 deg ATDC
Duration: 260

Looks like the Mojave inlet opens 9 degrees before the klx, closes 10 degrees before. The exhaust opens 4 degrees after the klx, closes 7 degrees after. So the Mojave inlets timing is advanced and the exhaust is retarded in comparison to the KLX. Sound familiar?

Below are spec scans for each machine for reference.

Same 250? Shows a different bore and stroke.

So, MCM is similar to stock KSF.. Don't know why this is important but it is interesting..

KLXter and I both are running the Marcelino mod.

Any of you wonder if that 74mm piston would fit in the KLX? That is how I ended up with the 678cc KLX650 - Vulcan piston was 2mm bigger. Wonder how much liner metal is in there or is the 250 a plated bore.
