KLX 250 ( 300 ) camshaft mod by Marcelino

Nothing confusing! Follow the original information and make sure before you start taking cams out your bike looks the same as the pics. You are most likely 180degree off or not at tdc... Remember putting it together wrong can damage your engine.i

I had no doubt that I could perform the mod - perform it correctly and successfully.
Do not attempt this mod unless you are equally sure of your skills and equipment. There is no room for error.
Marcelino has provided all the info you need.
I read all 42 pages of this thread several times wanting to verify that the mod works. There was very little confirmation involving a stock klx250s but enough to get me to do the mod and make a determination for those still in the wings.
The mod works. Your bike will perform as it never has before. You will feel the power all the time and you'll not be able to keep that stupid smile off your face or your hand off full throttle.
Here is the proof - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJEF5...ature=youtu.be
The particulars are in my previous posts.

I'll have to re-read that part

Maybe you could clarify the OPs instructions vs photo regarding ACR's position in relation to the box cutter blade, half round circle etc?
I've had a motorcycle engine completely apart before to do a Powroll stroker - I just don't see his postioning photo jiving with what he's saying about it.

Great little vid - thank you.
So, you just changed the exhaust cam and did nothing to the ACR - right? Any trouble starting the bike when hot after doing the mod?

Okay I found the OP's written description on page 8 of this thread:
Always when working on the timing put you engine to TDC , your cams should NOT be pushing the tappets .
After you position your engine at TDC , remove the chain tensioner , the chain ( make sure it doesn´t fall) , remove the cams. Mark the position of your decompressor ( ACR ) , you will need to press it out and reinsert it 6-7 mm ( 1/4 ich ) rotated counter clock wise as you look at it.
For the intake shaft : take out the 2 sprocket bolts , turn the sprocket util the EX holes allign with the threaded holes in the camshaft , put the bolts in and tighten, use threadlock . When you put the cam back in you NEED to put it two teeth turned CCW as you look at the sprocket , on the left the IN mark is a little below the edge of the head , on the right of the sprocket the mark is exactly 2 teeth above the edge of the head . Look carefully at the fotos .
On the exhaust shaft is exactly the same , but on the opposite direction. Move the bolts to the IN position and put the shaft 2 teeth rotated CW ( Clock Wise ) . Reset your tensioner , install it and then turn the engine BY HAND a few timesto make sure everything is OK . Then you can recheck your new alignment .
