You are 100% correct. I should have noted that,,, but most of my comments were meant to be just relative changes, but I did go back and re-read them and I did put numbers in, so.............

Well, if your looking for help, as in most things if the input is not accurate or it is incomplete, the outcome (or assistance in your case) is questionable at best.

I've done the mod this morning, on both cams. Rode the bike for a few hours on the freeway and then on twisty roads. Very, very happy with the results!

Malves, is your bike FI ? on my carbed bike it took a lot my top end pull away. I think the FI bikes are rpm limited electronically so may not notice it.

Yes, it`s FI and rpm limiter has been disabled on its first service. It limited the engine to 7,500rpm.
Funny, because 6th gear is A LOT stronger than before the mod. Bike accelerates quicker, pushing stronger thru all gears. I am downshifting much less in traffic and uphill, because of the increased torque.
It`s a different bike that is A LOT more fun to ride now. I am extremely excited with the mod. My bike has 32,000km and it has more power than it did when it was new back in Feb/2011.

FWIW, Dynolicious (for iPhone/iPod) shows a 3hp increase on the few runs I`ve done last nite, compared to the runs from last year. Other than the mod, the engine is all stock (except Iridium plug and Krieger`s manual adjuster - no impact on power).

yes I tried a few things. jets, lid off on , k and N, foam etc.

It acted just as i suspected with the intake valave early closing. Stronger pop to the idle with increase in running compression. Worked good on the trails riding lower rpms, felt a bit stronger. When I hit the road and gassed it I missed the ability to pull to redline.

I'd like to get it around 105 /106 and try it, but for now I'm back to stock. Cams don't have enough 1mm duration to be timed at those narrow lobe centers IMO, and the somewhat quiet 300 pipe doesn't have enough suction to use the extra overlap .

Oh, I know what you mean now. Don't know about hitting redline. Really never had the need to do it. But I've read on the net a couple of guys saying they couldn't pass 8,5krpm after the full mod. Also, read that doing only the intake cam would allow that. But you won't have the benefits of the full mod.
I think the OP says the mod makes the bike loose in the top end, in his first post.

Guess it kinda depends on how you use the bike, if it's working for ya go with it. Be nice to try the FI bike if kawi ever imports them.

I know revving past the hp peak (85-8700) seems counterproductive, But the extra rpms can make it fall back on the hp with the next shift My bike is just a little faster using the rpms, vs the added torque in the low/ mid-range.

here's my old 06 on the wheel:

this was not my best run, but was the best fueling. Made some more power with a K & N lid off and 132 main. But I don't like to run K and N in the dirt, and don't like the noise of the lid off. So compromise. This "best fueling" run also went too rich over 6000" mainly the fault of the 300 needle that was in it.

Very interesting mod and a great writeup.

It looks like this mod has been performed on the newer (09-12) bikes but how about for the previous model years 06-07?

Any differences I should be aware of befgore trying it out this winter?
