Just do the jumper mod and pull the restrictor out of the shift lever and unlock seventh gear and you can do like 120 easily.

My modded KLX will do like 170 now ...

 

Took mine to 93indicated 2up first day I had it. Now its high 70's as I dont need to go fast(islands only 30miles long)

 

You are talking about riding in the dirt right?

 

I put a 15 front sprocket on today. Still tops out at indicated 85 mph. Now its geared 15/39. Its a 351 with slide carb. Ats all shes got!

I've gone 65mph across a recently picked cornfield to get to the next woods section of a hare-scramble That's much twitchier than when I got it up to 93mph indicated.

If your asking me about dirt then answer is no. I dont think I could find a patch of dirt level enough and strait enough to get anywhere neer that fast.

 

I have gone 60 mph on a sand road over in NJ, was kinda scary to look down at the speedo... Was in 6th with the throttle WFO... good times.

 

In the desert next to a train track bed, I hit 74 indicated. So, about 67 actual? It was too fast. A couple of weeks ago I was going just over 60 when I saw a washout...skidded to slow down as much as possible...guess I was going 25-30 when I hit it? Made it through, but, got off line and hung it in a big bush and went right over the handlebars. Sore wrist and a separated AC joint, but, I'm otherwise fine.

I've vowed to myself to slow down out there....
