KLR250/KLX250 power comparison
For those who have both machines, how is the power of the KLX. Just trying to get an idea. I rode a KLR250 once so I have an idea of the power it has. Does the KLX250s have a little more zip?

RE: KLR250/KLX250 power comparison
It's really comparing apples to oranges in my case.
My KLR250 has been jetted, has a Cobra pipe on it and a 14 tooth front sprocket.
I would say that the KLX250S is feeling like it has as much power as the KLR250 did. And it is stock at this time.

If you made the gearing identical, though, then the KLX would show an even greater power and acceleration advantage over the KLR. The KLX is pretty fast for a street-legal 250. Since the KLX currently only has 15 miles on it, I can expect it to get even faster as it breaks-in more, obviously. And the brakes on the KLX are way better overall, too. Nice bike so far. Feels lighter and more nimble than the KLR, too.
