KLIM products from DSA
Has anybody tried KLIM products from Dual Sport Armory? They look pretty good. How about the Scout boots from Alpine Star. These products seem well suited to Dual Sport riding. My gear is left over from MX days. I rode MX until I was 60. Pain made me retire to dual sport and stop competition. I started riding trails and racing in the fiftys but never had gear just for trails.
Any feed-back would be great. Thanks.

G'day Shifter.
I still use my mx gear for trail riding.
In particular, boots.
I find that trails throw up all sorts of surprises and I'm too old to be breaking bones.
In fact, I ride with more protection now, even though I mainly stick to steady progress along trails and I no longer feel the urge to push the boundaries. Sure I'll have a crack at anything, but at a pace that is appropriate for a middle aged, balding, dwarf.
Protective gear, IMO, is so cheap, light and comfortable these days.

Klim is quality stuff, and for ADV type dual sporting you can make it last long time it's worth it to buy quality. But if your out there in the mud and muck slamming into stuff and through brush etc. Myself I prefer to wear cheap closeout mx gear. For example i go through 2 pairs of mx boots a year easy, the $400 ones don't last me any longer than the $100 ones.

I've had a pair of Alpinestar Vector boots for about ten years. Very protective, very tuff. Can't seem to wear them out. They aren't made any more because there is very little feel. They are not recomended for new riders due to lack of feel but they last and last and last and.... Thinking that a lighter boot like the Alpinestar Scout might work for dual sport and still have some feel and protection.
