KF as I see it.

KF as I see it.
Just some observations and a little philosophy.
There are 4 basic types of people on this forum (all forums for that matter):
Givers
Absorbers
Sharers
Takers[/ol]
The Givers are obviously the ones who have experienced many situations and processes. They are helpful and quick to lend a helping hand to others who are having difficulty, or have problems. The givers also will venture into uncharted territory to learn what they haven’t experienced, and are willing to share that information with others. These people are the foundation of a good informative forum.
The Absorbers are the ones who come to the forum to learn. They ask questions and rely on the givers and sharers to teach them what sometimes seems to be obvious answers, but never-the-less, not within their realm of understanding. Since the absorbers are usually new to the subject they usually need to be spoon fed directions, and explanations so that one day they can move out of this category and move on to the givers and sharers category.
The Sharers are the “peacemakers” of the group. They pass on information that they have learned from the givers. They just want everyone to get along and live as one big happy family. They are not necessarily mechanics, or hands on people but they are interested in helping those who ask questions, and need information. The Sharers are the peanut butter of the sandwich.
The Takers are the destroyers of the group. They already know it all. They are quick to tell others how unwise they are and how many mistakes they are making. They do this to make themselves feel better. No matter how destructive, they will make belittling comments, and let everyone know just how smart they are. They spew stories and fractured facts that they have read, like they are authorities on the subject. When questioned on such matters, they point at the questioner as the trouble maker. They stir the trouble up in the forum between the other three categories and then talk about what a saint that they are.
When the takers stir trouble, the absorbers are discouraged, the givers realize that they don’t need the grief, and the sharers are working at trying to get everybody to get along.
What a mess!
So consequently what happens is that the givers quit giving. They leave because their whole purpose for being here was to help others and that appears not to be the case anymore. The absorbers are wandering around in need of direction and the only hope that they have is the sharers to share their experiences and hope that it is adequate.
The takers meanwhile set back and laugh at the caos that they have created.
Guys, which group do you fall into? How many more givers can we stand to loose? It’s been quiet for a week or so, which basically shows that the some of the givers have left and the takers are basking in their glory. Don’t allow this scenario to continue. Call a spade a spade and ignore the takers. When they attack a new absorber, nail’em and get it stopped.
Make fun of this post if you wish but it’s how I see it. If your toes are being stepped on maybe you should re-evaluate your position.

RE: KF as I see it.
Nicely written, lets all try fit into one of the first three, and avoid the last one. Thanks KX Racer. We might just have to make this a sticky.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks..nicely written..hopefully most of the members will read and appreciate what you said..I am still fairly new to the forum and dirtbikes in general so i know what it's like to be the new guy, now I can actually see myself as a sharer moreso than an absober, although i still have many questions, but now i can help some of the new guys with my experiences. The givers really stand out from the crowd though and they are greatly appreciated in my book..thanks guys...you know who you are, I hope. PWIs.[sm=hail.gif]

99.9% of the members fit into the first three categories. So its all good, and a good reminder. Everyone around here is doing a great job asking, helping and learning. I'm proud to be associated with a group like most of you.

even though I'm a *****, I still see myself as an absorber. I didn't even really know how a carb worked, did or even looked like until i got my KLX and found this forum. I'm no pro but got some information I can share with others on my experiences. I'd love to be a sharer, but I dont have the nuts to do something thats never been done before as I don't want to ruin my baby [&:].
I'm wondering if its just quiet because riding season is still not on yet for alot of people? I know i'm going absolutely insane waiting to try my bike out with the new mods. I even tried to ride it around my parents' house (theres room to rip a little bit here and there on the front lawn) but there was too much snow and ice i couldnt even move much from the driveway let alone up the small grade to the lawn.
Cabin fever for sure.

woops i think i'm more a sharer. Try to give back as much as you can and more....anyway Eric i feel really bad for you man, another month or so and you'll be good to go you figure? I know at home I'm going to be going to dig in the mud as soon as I can. They say its not open to bikes until may, but rules are for breaking. Especially stupid rules like that.
