Default Just picked up my new bike

Just got home from picking up a new (09) KLX250sf. Had 1 mile on it, has 15 now. First time in a long time, I'm looking forward to the ride to work tomorrow.

I was a little concerned about the engine size and lack of power. After 14 miles without opening it up, I'm no longer concerned. It's going to be a fun bike

I got the bike for $3799, I think I got a good deal.

Change the oil and filter as soon as you can. I just changed mine after 60 miles and there was some glitter in the oil and pieces of sealant and other small debris in the filter. It's only a quart and a half of oil and a $4 filter.

Wait until you uncork it with a pipe, jet, and air cleaner. You're going to sprout wood.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the bike. You'll have alot of fun with the KLX. There are a bunch of different directions you can go with the bike depending on how you plan on using it. Enjoy

Thanks for the oil change tip. I was going to wait until the 400 mile mark, but I'll change it this weekend.

Rode it to work this morning 31 degrees when I left, fingers are still a bit numb :-)

What a blast to ride, scoots right along with traffic no problem.

And if that doesn't do it, then the HOTD thread will.

Welcome, you got a good deal. That's almost a grand less than I paid for mine...
