just one question ?
im getting ready to put on a pipe (fmf q4) and rejet soon, im only planning on changing out the main jet to a 128 and leaving the pilot and everything else in the carb alone, is that ok or do i have to change the pilot and slide setting ? thanks for any help.

RE: just one question ?
you can leave the piolet alone but you will need to raise the needle and adjust the fuel mixture screw ... you can go up 1 size on the piolet you will have a little less popping going down hills at closed throttle but not a big deal....Every situation is different just takes some time to get it wright
Good Luck

RE: just one question ?
Your ride will get pretty hot if you don't do the full carb mod's. They are pretty easy and cheap so, after going to all that trouble, I'm not sure why you would stop short of doing them all.
Main Jet, Pilot Jet, NT1C needle - no smog, no air box lid. Much better now.

RE: just one question ?
this will be my first time re-jetting a bike so im a little leary about it, but i guess as long as i have the bottom of the carb opened up ill do the main and pilot jets but the way i understand it you have to drill out the hole to do the needle and i really dont want to do any drilling in the carb so i think ill leave that alone. any suggestions on what sizes to switch to on the jets ? , i was going to go to a 128 on the main, what size pilot ? oh yeah i have the kouba fuel screw to put on also.

yeah, if you can pick your nose, you can drill the slide and set the air/fuel screw. your bike will thank you for it. plus, with the satisfaction of doing it all yourself, you'll feel all warm and tingly.just dooooooooooooooooit.

the a/f screw seat
at what point do you consider the a/f screw seating. when the spring is fully compressed or when the washer/o-ring under your spring seats initially against the bottom. I have a Kouba screw but not sure when i have bottomed out exactly. when i feel the first bit or resistance the spring begins to compress, the screw at this point is very loose and wobbles back and forth. then if i take it down to where it feels as if the spring is fully compressed then back out 2.25 to 2.5 out seems to be good but sure looks like its way in there.
