This just in - NC red clay matches KTM orange
While exploring some new trails this weekend I found an area of red clay that matches my bike perfectly! Now my KTM won't show any dirt, how cool is that?

So, when are you going to get some of that mud on the bike?

Dave, NC has some great riding, just not much where I'm at. [&:] The best stuff is to the west near the mountains, but that's about 6 or 7 hours from me. Just a few hours east of me is Uwharrie NF which has some ORV trails where the jeep guys take their rock crawlers. I've been meaning to get over that way, but haven't yet. It's on my list to check out, though. And a few hours to the south are the sand hills which I hear are good fun also.
But I find I need to do 10 or 20 miles of road to get in just a few miles of trails. I can patch together a decent ride, but it'd be 80% road, 20% off-road. The good news is that some of the off-road is twisty tight singletrack and really works you. The bad news is that they are little short sections. I'd love to be able to go on an all-day ride and never see pavement, but I can't do that here. Gotta load up the bike and drive a few hours at least to get that kind of riding.

It may match the color now, but wait until the mud is wet. Then everything gets stained one color. If youwant that clay mud, then move to Oklahoma, theres plenty of it for everyone. And still washing it off the KLX after I got stuck in it.
