That bike was based on the '78 KX 125 as far as the frame/suspension were concerned...at least in the general sense. You'll find suspension parts from several other models that will interchange. You can still even find rear shocks for that bike. Motor parts are plentiful as the engine is the KL250 engine which was used in other models.
Four of us at the motorcycle shop I used to work at actually campaigned the old KLX250 for an entire year on the state enduro circuit. One guy won the 250B class for the season, another won the Open B class on a 318cc conversion of this bike, and I had my best season overall in 250B at 3rd. It was an underpowered bike, but it handled like crazy, besting many of the higher end racing bikes of the time when the course was nasty and bike handling was king.
When I'm looking for aftermarket parts for our modern KLX, I still see the old '79/'80 model KLX250 listed in numerous catalogs for many different parts.

Finding performance engine stuff might be a little hard at this stage. Kawasaki will have replacement engine stuff. Powroll was the big player back when this bike was new. Might check there, but I think they're more into these hopped-up pit bike setups now. That 318 kit I mentioned was from Powroll, and I had one of their cams in mine that worked great. I also went with an aftermarket carb back then...I think going from 32mm to 34mm...but I don't think it's really worth it in your case. I think you can find a Supertrapp slip-on muffler for the stock header. Since this was an off road only model, the header is pretty decent as stock. For something this old, I'd just get it in good operating condition and enjoy riding it. The frame and suspension was what was great about this bike, but remember that was in 1979's time frame.
