Default Just bought a 06' KLX250S with 1,000 miles

Hi everyone... I just bought a 2006 KLX 250S with 1,000 miles.

A few questions... any help is appreciated!

-where can I get aftermarket radiator shroud decals for a different look?
-where does everyone keep their reg and insurance papers?
-can I lower the suspension? How?
-What is the best bag to mount to the rack for storage?
-anything I should do to fine this machine?

Thanks in advance!

-Lee

Yes there are lowering links, and you can drop the fork tubes a bit. As far as what to mount to the rack, this is my setup. Also a small tank bag is the bomb! The case is the Pelican 1200, easy to mount.

An 06 with 1000k. Wow, what a find. Quick question, does the speedo look like it was tampered with? LOL. Sorry, just referring to a previous thread about odometer tampering.

Welcome to KLX ownership. They are a great bike. Enjoy!

Looks good. My 2009 came with a bolted on little bag on the rear fender in place of the rack on the 06/07 model. In that bag I have a zip lock containing insurance and registration. I wouldn't be afraid to zip tie that zip lok bag to a place on the frame somewhere to be retrieved in the rare case that you get pulled over.

My bigger issue is carrying my wallet with license and cash. I don't want to put it in my pants pocket for fear it will push out. On real rides I have a butt bag with many tools and plenty of room for the wallet. In that butt bag I also keep an expired driver's license for identification should I become dead.

Deej, do you take that thing on big road rallies like the governor's run in Kitsap?

No not really, I did a poker run back in 2006 and then I took a trip up to Vancouver Island. Here is the report on that trip. Was a lot of fun and ended with 700 miles.
