Joined the club..My second post.
My virgin ride. Have already done some mods. Renthal "Jimmy Button " handlebars, Scott SX grips (double lockwired,) removed Carb de-ice circuit (not on US models,) removed "easy to lose" tool kit and bag, filled holes with 8mm grommets, used Y-branch on carb breathers and routed them high under seat. Got some stuff on order. Full Big Gun system, B&B bashplate and frame guards, T handle Fuelscrew for: 06-up Kawasaki KLX250 Dual Sport. PN FS-3 (kouba).
Ordered some OE carb parts to fit when the pipe comes. I'll do the slide mod at the same time.
16009-1912 Kawi Needle-Jet, N1TC
92037-1401 Kawi Clamp, Jet Needle
92143-1667 Kawi Collar
Needle clip slot 2 down from the top
92063-1069 Kawi Main Jet #125 or 92063-1074 Kawi Main Jet #128
92064-1108 pilot jet #40 Air screw at 2 turns out to start
drill the slide vent to 7/64ths.
No need for the crankcase vent mod on Aus spec bikes as we get the 300 airbox/boot.
I'll junk the airbox lid when I do the carb and pipe and fit a Uni filter. (No snorkle cause there nothing but red dirt.)
Got a few things to keep my going. Looking forward to see what can be achieved.
Kevin Doyle produced a stormin' KLX 250 for the Thumper Nats over here, so I know theres a lot of potential.

Dont you have a plug in the crank vent line that can be removed though?
Does'nt your carb slide have holes at the top that need to be filled or get a US spec slide?

No plug in crankcase breather, as I said we get a different boot and airbox. I'll be doing the carb slide mod when I fit the pipe and the new carb jets.

I swear Ive seen both an online review & a PDF of the "destricting" of Oz bikes & it had a plug in the breather line itself--its the same place I learned about the carb slide holes at the top. Its here somewhere but I could not find it in a search.
The US bikes dont have one in the line, its just built into the airbox instead which makes it harder(& permanent) to remove.
