Mine too! I'm obsessed with him. When I'm trying to get through the day, and facing an especially difficult decision, I just ask myself, "What would Iowaguy do?".
Now if you can just work on keeping this attitude instead of firing off that loose cannon all of the time[sm=shootshoot.gif], the world could be a better place.

vlodpq, what kind of altitude are you at?Are you going to be running a high flowair filter? Some are running the 40 pilot and some are not. The stock 35 was to small for me and the 40 was to large. I had to get a 37 or 37.5. I would also no get just 1 main jet. I would get the 2 you mentioned and next one smaller than the 125 which I think is a 122. just for comparision I have a full Muzzy, no airbox lid, backfire screen removed, twinair filter and about 500-1000' above sealeveland Iam running a 132 main. This is good for the warmer months but a little lean through the winter.

vlodpg, in hindsight, I wouldn't have spent the money on they high flow snorkel ($22.50). Just pull the airbox lid instead.

Id just ger the DJ kit, and remove the airbox lid like they call for. No need to buy the snorkel for the DJ kit.

Or keep the lid and just yank the snorkle. I couldn't see spending the $22.50 either.

Just to add a quick comment about jet sizes...so many or saying use this size or that size, but you are not saying what brand jet you are using. This is KEY, as I posted a long time ago, there are differences between the size of the OEM jet and the size of the DJ jet. A number 132 is not the same between the two companies.

Therefore, if you are going to recommend a jet size, be sure to say which brand.

Also, a note about the pilot jet, the rule is basically this, if you need to turn your mixture screw out more than three turns you need a larger pilot, less than one turn you need a smaller jet. I am running the stock pilot at sea level, DJ kit, no lid, full Big Gun exhaust and the bike runs perfect in the areas that the pilot affects.

My guess is most people at sea level have no need for a larger pilot. For my money I went with the DJ kit for no other reasons than A) It was complete with instructions and B) It came with "extra parts" so as my needs changed I had jets and spare e-clips (they get lost easy when changing clip positions) and C) I feel the taper design of the DJ needle is superior to OEM, then again, the taper of needles designed by carb experts like Ivan from Ivans Performance are vastly superior to DJ. Never underestimate just how much of a difference the needle design makes towards how the bike reacts to throttle inputs.

Funny when I had the dealer do the jetting and pipe, I went to pick it up and he handed me the left over jets the old boat anchor exhaust and the air box lid. I asked him what to do with it and he said put it on a shelf but you're never going to need it. 132-40 no lid, full muzzy riding at about 300 in town and up to 2000-3000 and its flawless. The mechanic that did my work is also a racer and maxed everything out.
