Issues to Look for when Purchasing Used
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, I'm looking at purchasing a used 2018 KLX 250, new ones are impossible to find in my area. I've never owned a dual-sport or a single, is there anything I should look out for? The bike has 6,600 miles on it which struck me as a bit high for a 2 year old dual-sport but maybe that shouldn't worry me.
Thanks so much for any advise!

If the bike was maintained and not abused, the mileage on the bike is really in your favor. Most people see that mileage and will shy away from it. How long has the bike been for sale? Is the bike still stock and ridden most of the time on surface streets and forest service roads, or was it modded out and ridden like a motocross or woods bike? Looking at the bike (plastics, frame, seat, etc) should give you and idea how the bike was treated. Will the bike need new tires, are the rims in good shape with all the spokes? Check the sprockets for wear, do they need to be replace too? If any of these are needed, try to get the seller to drop the price. If the bike has bee on the market for a while there's usually a reason (mileage) which means the price is negotible.
Kawasaki made KLX pretty bullet proof, so if it's in good shape and for a good price, I wouldn't be afraid of buying it. Best of luck, I know there's not a lot of these bikes for sale right now.
