Both tires are DOT rated. The front Kenda is considered 80/20 and the rear Cheng Shin is rated as 50/50. Up front I may try a Michelin AC-10 after this Kenda wears out. For the rear I'm sticking with the Trackmaster line, or if I plan on alot of road miles maybe another Cheng Shin but in 5.10-18 for better flotation.

Yea, I was looking for new tires, the front washes too much. And the rear, it just flat out sucks. I'm thinking maybe a 80/20 or a 90/10. I don't ride on road alot. But when my brother tries to push the bike past its limits when I tell him not to. He will bite pavement. I don't WANT him to get hurt. He is just so cocky. But I ride pretty tough trails and I want to make it up the hill climbs and through the mud (not the kind you find on a 6 ft. wide trail. I'm talking a hill with ditches and its covered in 8" deep mud.) Something that won't get crazy sidebite if I land wrong off a jump. So pretty much just something for mainly off-road.

Sorry for the long post,
Will

Will, I'm loving my current setup, the TM will find traction where you think there wouldn't be any. Keep the revs up and it will stay cleaned out in the nastiest mud too. That is of course until you bury it to the footpegs in an ATV rut. Aside from the noise I find this setup to be a very acceptable dual sport setup, great offroad grip and nothing funky on the street. My buddy with a 650L Honda says the TM walks on him in the corners which it does I've watched it. However he is laying it wayyyyy over and its a 38 hp bike so to me that's expected. My rear tire is scuffed all the way around to the very edge of the ***** (aka chicken strips I believe) and I have no walking problems, could be the 18 less hp but whatever I'm happy with it.

I myself have been looking at more road only tires for my klx,I haven't had it in the woods yet and thinking the street tire would make a huge difference riding with my buddies.I don't like the feel of my stockers at 65mph,just way to much vibration.Yesterday we went for a cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee in N.H. and got pulled over twice as they thought my bike wasn't legal, after checking my reg.,they explained that they just haven't seen many of the klxs on the road yet and let me continue.we stopped at a bike bar called the Hoggs pen for lunch and actually had a few guys go look at my bike and they liked it.

I have TW's on my XL and they do fine for the type of riding that I do with them. I am mostly on back roads and some hard pack trails. I can imagine that they would not be very good on the mud.

So far I've put about 800 miles on the Kenda K270. They are still round, gripis good in both street and dirt. They do produce some road noise, but only mildly.

I still have a brand new set of the Kenda K270's in my shop at work, I'm waiting for the 606 to wear out, 3500 miles and still looks to be 50% left, I know that the Kenda is a waaaaaay softer compound, and so I'm now wondering if I should sell the set and buy another 606 just so I don't have to learn how to ride again. I'll tell you what, I'll trade the set of tires for this.

Or this:

Anyone.....Anyone......Bueller....Bueller

What's happening to me, I'm so confused.

It pretty obvious what is happening here my friend. I think the only cure is to go get your very own Hyper Duck....

Actually I would just love to have a set of those hand guards with the built in turn signals and folding mirrors. Those things are the bomb.

I dunno, they're OK for a Super Motard but look a little vulnerable for a dirt bike....
