Early to mid 1990"s KX triples will fit the 43mm forks. Forks got larger diameters after that and the steering stem diameter changed.

Right on. Im thinking of possibly swapping some KX forks to my KLX250 along with the KX Triple Clamps. Would something like this work or would some custom fabrication need to be involved.

Thanks again

Fortunately, the PlanetKLX website is archived. Here's the information on the fork swap:

One thing to check is the length of your stock forks compared to the KX forks. Different length spring spacers may be needed.

Hey dude,

I found out I need to change my key ignition as its faulty and not delivering power. An OEM ignition new costs roughly $100 for 09 KLX250s. Even then I would have to tap the bolts to remove the bad one on my bike. I revisited this thread and remembered you said some early to mid 90's KX triple clamps will fit the 43mm forks on the KLX.

Im finding some 92 and 93 triple clamps on ebay for a much cheaper price than 09-14 klx triple clamps. If go with the KX triple clamps, im wondering where the key switch would go. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks ahead of time!
