Installing sprocket

RE: Installing sprocket
The torque values are typcially 69 ft-lbs for most bikes. that's what I used. However, you will need a impact wrench to get it off. The motor is so small and he bike so light, the torquq required to remove it, will cause the motor and rear wheel to spin... unless you get a friend to sit on the back. With a $50 electric impact wrench... it's a very fast job. Same for removing the rear axle bolt. It's also gets approx 69 ft-lbs.
The countershaft sprocket bolt has standard right hand threads (lefty loosey). Be sure to install teh aftermarket sprocket so that the side with the "shoulder" on the sprocket faces in. Otherwise the chain will rub on the case.

If you're poor like me and don't have an impact wrench, just stick a broom handle through the rear sprocket and use the chain to keep the motor from turning.
69ftlb sounds kinda lite to me but I don't have a shop manual. It was certainly on there with more than that. Then again, with the lock ring, it's not going anywhere.

RE: Installing sprocket
Did anyone reuse that 'safety' washer that has it's tabs bent around the nut?
80 lb.ft in the rear according to my owners manual, too. Anyone have a KLX250/300 manual that can give us the exact torque spec for the sprocket?
I expect mine in the mail tommorrow !! But she goes in for a leaky left fork seal on Thursday !
