You overtightened the nut putting it back on, its only 92 ft-lbs which really isn't all that much. It's such a bear to get off because the bent up washer puts tension on the nut locking it on the shaft. Now that I have the washer engaging correctly its a 1 person job with only an 18" bar to change the sprocket, no long cheater required.

I was thinking the same, but didn't know the torque spec off hand, so i just kept quiet, but yeah it shouldn't be as tight as you can get it as you may have an even harder time removing it the next time. There is a list of torque specs floating around here somewhere, I'll see if I can find it..i don't think it was really clear, but it might help...if anyone has a nice clear jpeg of the specs, could they repost it? I'd love to print it off and tack on the garage wall for reference. Thanks.

Hey, I made that! Be sure and send royalties to nobrakes@paypal.com. Ha ha, ok that's not a real address so don't send any money there. And if it is a real address it doesn't go to me.

Dirtsurfer got the laminated original when he bought my bike. I still have the PDF from which I made it, though.

The image below is the full resolution of the camera I used. It's actually a cropped down portion of this photo:

Yeah if you got the pdf, I'd love a copy too so i can print it out, but if I don't get it i think I will simply type one up, maybe even with ft-lbs or inch-lbs translations as well. Thanks, if you send it though.

Check Mark's web page listed in his signature. I e-mailed Mark the PDF and he was kind enough to put it up there for anyone else that wants it.

Sorry to dig up an old thread - can anyone tell me if the moose part number is for a 2009 klx250s?

On their application list it states two different klx250 models one 06-09 and one 09 model - guessing its the latter with stock spockets of 14/39 (is that correct?) so the new 13 tooth front sprocket should be #1212-0387

Cheers
