Default Installed THE MUZZY!

I just installed my Muzzy pipe tonight. It's about 8-10 lbs lighter and cosmetically, it looks awesome. The header pipe is huge compared to the stock. About 1/4" larger in diameter, more at the mid pipe. I still need to rejet, but the my current carb setting with the choke is good enough just to hear it for a few seconds. I decided to start with jsut the spark arrestor screen in.

The result... I put the quiet plug in! It's much louder than stock. There's noting stealth about the bike anymore. But it won't set off car alarms. Of course I started it in my garage with the door open.

It has a slightly metalic tone, that's a little raspy as the revs come up with overall a nice deep growl. This is a must have upgrade!!! Wow.... is this the same machine. It's finally got some ***** to it... he** ya! It's not too loud, but it sure sounds like a Muzzy... minus 3 cylinders.

It started up a little easier with the quiet plug in. I had to try 2 or 3 times with the screen only. So it's definitely giving a little more backpressure. It sure feels like there a whole lot more air comming out of the motor now. Even with the chocke on, the throttle response also felt a little quicker than before. I can't wait to toss in a new needle and main jet and go for a ride!

Here's some photos...

Stock vs. MUZZY!

Catalytic converter has been replaced with big fat midpipe that enhances the wonderful sound of this machine.

Header diameter is a big difference. Also adds to the sound. The thinner, larger diameter metla gives it a little bit of a metalic sound. It also should flow a lot more air.

You've been saying that for 3 weeks now! Just DO IT!

Saying that... now I'll probably wish I had a bigger tank first. I'll be curious to see how it effects fuel consumption. In theory it might stay the same, power outptu may increase proportional to effeciency as long as the fuel air ration stays roughly the same.

LOL! Budget issues you know! But next week for sure!

BTW, Is there a cheaper source for these other than Muzzy direct?

I just ordered mine 5 minutes ago -- the full Muzzy system, and the quiet insert and spark arrestor set with it -- got it for $397.50 shipped from same place Motoguy got it:

Here's the link:

I ordered the KLX300 Dynojet kit from the ThumperTalk store, also this morning.

They said 7-10 days -- oh-boy oh-boy oh-boy!
Gonna make that green meanie rip!

Those great pics posted here finally pushed me over the edge.
