Which insert for the big gun

Which insert for the big gun
So after 8 months of backordering my big gun finally came in. I called them to order the quiet core insert which has a couple of baffles welded in it to quiet it down, but they told me that they don;t make it for the EVO R that goes on the KLX250s because it is a 1 3/4 insert. If it was a 2 inch like they make for bigger bikes then it would fit. So I ordered the vortex insert which is basically 3 smaller tubes that slide down into the straight unrestricted race core that comes standard. What should I do here. Just run the race core and tolerate the extra noise and hope the cops don't get me for it. And will there be any negative effects on my bike if I do run the race core continuously. Or run the vortex insert which a reliable source told me awhile back wasn't intended for continuous use. Anybody got an opinion on this or some personal experience? Keep in mind I commute about 70 miles a day on my KLX. Any help would be appreciated with this one.

I ride on the street with it opened up cops don't even look. We have millions of harleys around here that are way louder. If you ride off road and want to tone it down throw the quite thingy in, just take it out when your done.

This is a P3 insert for a 2 brothers pipe. They make two others that have increasing sized outlet diameters.
Fab something similar. P3 insert ID was just under 7/8".

Hey KG, What's your elevation where you ride and how do you have your bike rejetted? Although it looks like you modified your engine a bit, is that correct?
So if I jet my bike with the pipe opened up, will I have to change the jetting when I have the insert in. I have got the kouba air screw ready to install and will tweaking that work if changes do have to be made?

the vortex insert was more quiet than the quiet core..... but i didnt like how the exhaust flowed with it in... it runs better with quiet core.... it is just obnoxious with out either... did that for awhile... makes ur ears ring...lol

Hey EMS
They are telling me that the quiet core isn't available for my EVO R because it is an 1 and 3/4. I that what yours is? Or do you have a 2 inch core? If it is 1 and 3/4 then where did you get it from.

my pipe is the evo x..... 2".... if you knew someone with a machine shop or able to weld stainless steel... all ya need to do is cut the core with a band saw, and put Stainless Steel sheet metal in and tack it in, in 3 places..... doesnt look that hard.... but it would have probably been more to have someone mod my race core than the cost of the quiet core...

I would imagine that with the vortex insert it still runs a ton better than with the stock exhaust. So for the 70 miles of commuting I do 3 or 4 times a week and having the vortex insert in hand, what would you do? Just run it with or with out?
